Estimate how many bricks you need for a wall from its size and your brick dimensions, then add a mortar and waste allowance so you order enough.
Enter the wall size in metres and the brick dimensions in millimetres. The calculator works out the wall area, divides it by the face area of one brick to get the count, then adds the mortar / waste allowance you set.

A brick calculator estimates the number of bricks a wall needs from the wall area and the face size of a single brick, then adds an allowance for mortar joints and breakages so you order a sensible surplus.
The allowance covers mortar joints, half-bricks and the inevitable broken bricks.
It's a blunt percentage on top of the pure face-area count, intended to cover mortar joints, cuts and breakages together. For a more precise joint model, add about 10 mm to each brick dimension before calculating.
It's wise to round up to the nearest pack and keep a few spares for future repairs. Matching brick batches later can be difficult.
